Week 3 (5 Aug 2019 - 9 Aug 2019)

On Wednesday, 7th August 2019, Students who are in Final Year Project 1 had their first meeting with Dr Imran at TTL 2. During two hours briefing, student was briefed about the subject. During the class, we are exposed with introduction, course outline, FYP evaluation FYP Generic Title Guide and General advices.

1. Introduction

Dr Imran had brief us about FYP Introduction and much more input and tips. Students need to know the purpose of FYP , aim, objective and other content of FYP.

2. Course Outline

A handout has been given to use about the guidance and schedule throughout the semester. Students are allocated with 17 weeks of FYP 1 course. and during week 10, students need to perform their Proposal Defense Presentation.

3. FYP Evaluation

The Evaluation including:

• Logbook/Blog : 30%
• Proposal Defense Presentation : 35%
• Project Report Proposal : 35%

4. FYP Generic Title Guide

Students are given a handout as a guidance to generate a generic title for their FYP 1 project. The title should be included with type, invention, method and target as shown in the diagram below. No objection if students wanted to do their project without referring to this guideline. As for me, I created my project title by referring to the guideline. To conclude, my project title is "Development of Portable Dual-Axis Solar Tracker". The tips on creating synopsis also was given by the handout.

5. General Advices

• Meet with supervisor to discuss and gain information with in writing and producing the best product research
• Start early. Put in enough work and start early.
• Do not do thing last minute

Conclusion:

After this class, I decided to keep my activity on tracks by referring to the guideline and write the synopsis of the project.
